Disrupting Racism with Peter Huang (8PM EST)

Can racism’s devastating impact on individuals, communities, and societies be prevented? What can each of us do to reduce racism in America? Is there more we can do to diminish discrimination?

In this live virtual webinar, Endeavor Literary Press editor Glenn McMahan will hold an in-depth conversation with Dr. Peter Huang, author of the new book Disrupting Racism. In the book, which is endorsed by two Nobel Prize-winning economists, Dr. Huang argues that we can do more to reduce racism by applying economics, behavioral science, and cognitive neuroscience—a holistic approach. Dr. Huang will be joined in this conversation by Dr. Henry Lee, a world-renowned forensic scientist. Born in China and growing up in Taiwan, Dr. Lee came to the United States in 1965 and, through hard work and persistence, became a leading crime-solver with a PhD in biochemistry from NYU. He offers a long-range view of racism in American society.

Together Dr. Huang and Dr. Lee will share their knowledge about combatting racism and their personal experiences as Asian Americans.

Soldier On: A Woman's Memoir of Resilience and Hope

Event Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82712783804

In this virtual event, we will interview the daughter of an Auschwitz survivor, Israeli author Bracha Horovitz. At eighteen, Bracha trained in the Israel Defense Forces. Then, while serving at IDF headquarters among Israel’s top military leaders, she was selected to participate in the Miss Israel beauty pageant.

In a beautiful love story, Bracha married an honorable, entrepreneurial man. The two of them seemed to have it all—lucrative careers, a happy marriage, and a small family. And then . . . tragedy struck. Bracha’s son was born with severe disabilities.

Bracha’s new book Soldier On is the story of how one woman and her family discovered how they could, with courage and perseverance, transform suffering into a beautiful life. This book reminds us that no amount of suffering should destroy hope and love.
